We’re gonna let you in on your options for travelling by bus, in our opinion the easiest way if you are travelling solo, in a group that aren’t drivers or if you are on a tight schedule but want to see as much of Aussie as you can! To travel by bus is easy, cost effective and really popular amongst backpackers, making it a great place to meet people. You have two options of bus companies, Greyhound or Premier, struggling to choose? We gotcha.. Read on……
So Greyhound is a popular option to travel the east coast of Aussie, they offer a huge range of hop on hop off passes which are cheap than booking the journeys individually. You could even travel all the way from Cairns to Melbourne by the Greyhound buses, they stop off at all the major stops and operate 2-3 times a day giving you more choice! These guys are epic as the buses are reliable and comfy, and for us the ultimate selling point, they have WIFI and USB chargers. There are a couple of big overnight buses so this is a massive perk… Once you choose your ticket you’ll be given a unique log in where you can add or change your buses >> making it great if your plans change along the way because we ALL know this happens!
Premier is another epic way to travel Aussie, whilst they offer similar passes to Greyhound, you’ll find that these buses are cheaper but a little less travel friendly for those longggggg overnight buses, so if you are a real budget conscious traveller this one’s for you! You can purchase hop on and off passes for routes along the east coast and travel in one direction >> they stop off at all the major stops and operate once a day. You’ll be able to log in online using your premier login details and add your buses to your itinerary along the way!
