Ready to visit the world’s largest sand island and explore it by 4WD? Fraser Island is one of our favourite adventure experiences and you’ll love everything that this incredible island has to offer! There’s no such thing as roads on Fraser and you’ll be swapping the rainy dual carriageways of home for the 75 mile beach highway and will be driving along the beach and tracks through the forest, it’s an experience like no other and this will certainly get your adrenaline going. The island is super remote and very few people actually live here, there’s incredible wildlife to see, look out for the island’s resident dingos, snakes, spiders, goanas and whales (during the migration season).
Note: This option you will be staying in dorm accomodation
This 4WD tag along tour will show you the islands best locations and you’ll be shown around by legendary experienced guides! You’ll see all of the islands highlights including the crystal clear Lake McKenzie, tea tree Lake Wabby, float down the natural lazy river Eli Creek, visit indian head to take in the views or chill in the bubbling champagne pools and see the historic maheno shipwreck.
This 3 day 2 night tour with Nomads is awesome, we love this tour because it is full of good vibes, a group of legendary backpackers, a true ozzie guide and you get to see the whole island! You’ll have an awesome time cruising around in the 4WD’s, these are self drive so if you’re over 21 and have had your license for more than a year you can be the driver and experience driving along the beach, and what road trip is complete without epic tunes? Be the DJ and create the ultimate island soundtrack!
All your meals are provided on this tour and you’ll all chip in and help out with the cooking and cleaning – see it as ‘4wd team bonding’! You’ll be treated to epic hot meals at the end of the day and a picnic lunch each day in some unreal spots! And what better way to wrap up an awesome day of cruising around a remote island than hitting up the Eurong Resort Bar?!

Sam was stellar and helped make a custom itinerary in no time. I appreciated the completeness and follow through on his part to even take care of the
small details like bus connections. Thanks to him, I got a ride with another couple up the coast after we booked the same frasier island tour!
Ratpack travel is run by Sam, a mancunian operating out of a small office adjacent to a hostel in Byron Bay. I cannot fault him or his company at all,
it was excellent in all respects. Unlike some of the other larger competitors, Ratpack passes potential discounts onto the customers, and whilst
there may not be a huge difference what you do get is the best customer service. I would say I’m fairly well travelled and have used a lot of tour
operators but never have I met someone who loves so much what they do. Ratpack will take you through all the options, make an itinerary and advice
you on all kinds of minute details in a very chilled environment. However, possibly the best thing about my personal experience was that, our plans
to stay aboard a boat at the whitsundays were ruined by hurricane Debbie and so we opted to go to the great barrier reef instead. Sam effectively
communicated with us and provided a refund with no qualms and organised our great barrier reef trip. Great company, great guy. Would throughly
For anyone traveling Australia definitely hit up Sam for any travel advice! I stayed in Byron for just under a month and it was by far the best month of
my life! Sam and Jake organize so many fun activities and are always super friendly and helpful. If you are in Byron I highly recommend hitting up
I had a realy good experience with rat pack. I met a lot of people who booked with other traveling companies who had problems with their bookings but RatPack
was great! Got a lot of great deals and experiences 🙂 Couldn’t have had a better time in Australia!
