Tour Info

This place is EPIC – the huge sand Rock formation known as the ‘red centre’ – visit at sunrise and sunset to see the colours literally change in front of your eyes as the sand reflects the sun… It’s rusty red beauty makes it world famous for many reasons, and it’s said to be an ancient 550 milllion years old! Uluru is a sacred place to the indigenous Australians so respect here is a must RatPackers!

As remote as a city can possibly get – in the middle of the Aussie outback – it has that lost {almost creepy} vibe. The airport serves as an access point to start trips into the red centre to discover Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kings Canyon. Little tip: When you’ve made it to Alice though DO NOT think your at Ayers Rock as its still a solid 450 Km’s away! Head to the OutBack to discover, 1 of our Top 5 favourites – & my (Sammy Boy’s) favourite spot!

This tour will give you an awesome experience in the legendary Outback of Australia, expect to have an adventure like no other on this tour as it takes you hiking through the Kings Canyon, camp in the bush, see stars like you’ve never seen before, share campfire stories, see the beaut Uluru not only at sunset but also at sunrise, learn about the aboriginal culture and history of the area and meet a whole bunch of legends!! You’ll be checking out waterholes, completing the base walk around Uluru, hearing stories from the ‘Tjukurpa’ Dreamtime and see Aboriginal Cave Paintings.

This trip will push you out of your comfy comfort zone as you’ll be camping out in the bush! The team from the Rock have got it on POINT though and you’ll feel right at home as you enjoy beautiful food & campfires under a million stars. You’ll even get to enjoy dinner as you watch the colours change and the sunset over Uluru on the 2nd night.

We love Uluru because of its epic adventure, dustiness and how crazy the sheer size of it is! If you after an adventure this is for you!

Day 1: Kings Canyon (Meals – L, D)You will be picked up from your accommodation at 5:30am, first destination Kings Canyon. Enjoy a guided 3 hour hike through the sandstone domes of the Lost City. Visit the many Amphitheatres, North & South Walls and the beautiful Garden of Eden. Next stop, Curtin Springs where we have a quick wash and toilet stop before setting up our Bush Camp. Your guide will prepare a healthy camp-oven dinner. Relax around the fire then curl up in your cozy swag under a million stars.

Day 2: Kata Tjuta & Uluru Sunset (Meals – B, L, D) *We leave Bush Camp just after Sunrise and head to Ayers Rock Campground for a quick shower and toilet stop before heading off to The Olgas. Feel the spiritual significance on your guided walk through to the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta.
Be shown bush tucker along the hike before heading to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre in the afternoon where you can listen to tales from the ‘Tjukurpa’Dreamtime. We spend the evening enjoying dinner at the spectacular Sunset over Uluru. Witness the awesome sight of Uluru changing colour. We spend this night at the Ayers Rock Campground with toilets and showers.

Day 3: Uluru Sunrise (Meals – B,L)We leave the Ayers Rock Campground before sunrise and take in a memorable Uluru Sunrise over the World’s Largest Rock. You then have time to complete an Uluru Base Walk around Uluru. You will see beautiful sites such as the Mala Walk, Mutijulu Waterhole and Aboriginal Cave Paintings. We stop on the way home for an optional Camel Ride at the Camel Farm. You will arrive back in Alice Springs at approximately 5:30pm.
