Before we begin, this post is just for a bit of fun!
Aussie is full of incredible scenery, epic tours and some of the best beaches in the world, but it is also home to a load of quirks.
To Australians, this is all a normal part of life down under and we love them for it!
So lets go, here are our fave Aussie quirks…
Some quirks
Vegemite is actually super amazing (unpopular opinion)
Skydiving is amazing (you gotta try it!)
Public transport is so good and cheap.
Coconuts kill more people than sharks.
‘Shrimp on the barbie’- they actually call them prawns.
Wine comes in boxes (they call it goon over there).
Tim Tams are life (these delish biscuits are to die for!)
Kangaroos aren’t hopping around everywhere (sad face).
There are creepy crawlies but not that many.
The Aussies really do love BBQ’s – there are public use BBQ’s on the beaches and in parks.
Pedestrian crossings make a “bok bok” noise.
Fast food giants go by different names (Burger King is Hungry Jacks and McDonald’s is Maccas.
Literally everything is abbreviated – afternoon turns into arvo.
Flip flops are called thongs.
You can buy kangaroo meat in the supermarkets! (weird).
You can’t buy booze from the supermarket, you have to go to the bottle shop.
Flats are called Units.
